Spain and Germany Sign Agreement to Corporate to More in Higher Education

“It plans to develop collaboration in higher education through the exchange of information between the authorities and their corresponding higher education institutions, as well as the organization of visits and the exchange of stays for officials,” the statement issued by the government of Spain reads.
In addition, the agreement also proposes the development of mechanisms for each Ministry to report on programs, research calls, and regulatory updates to the academic community from the other country.
“In addition, it includes a specific work plan for collaboration between both countries and other actions such as consultation with the foreign academic community on how to improve academic conditions and improve academic internationalization, and resolve problems in joint academic programs of German and Spanish institutions, as well as how to reduce bureaucracy in the field of cooperation,” the statement also explains.
In this regard, the Minister of Universities of the Government of Spain, Joan Subirats, has positively evaluated this bilateral agreement, stressing that the declaration of intent which was signed will make it easier to recognize Germany’s policies, programs and actions in the country.
At the same time, the German Minister, Bettina Stark-Watzinger, said that she felt pleased that the discussions between the two countries on lifelong learning, higher education and scientific research could be intensified in La Coruña.
She also added that the conditions of cooperation are extremely good, asserting that Spanish and German universities have close ties.
Germany has an extensive experience and history regarding areas of great interest to Spain, including the retraining of the working population, dual university education and the university model at the service of social needs and a better future stable.
As the Spanish government explains, through this statement, the Ministry of Universities has respected the European Union’s mandate to strengthen the cooperation and relations between Germany and Spain, and therefore the strengthening of the integration of the European project and its area of ??higher education.
