Germany Signs Agreement With Uzbekistan to Attract More Qualified Workers
The agreement was signed by the Minister of Interior Nancy Faeser on behalf of the German government in the city of Samarkand, AtoZSerwisPlus reports.
By reaching such an agreement with the Central Asian country, the German authorities said that they want to make it easier for skilled and qualified workers from Uzbekistan to reach the country for work purposes and to help the country amid the current situation.
According to the German authorities, Uzbekistan has great potential of workers who are trained and hard-working.
Commenting on the matter, the German Special Representative Dr, Joachim Stamp, said that the agreement will offer new opportunities to young people from Uzbekistan. The same stressed that the country is an important partner for Germany.
As part of the agreement, Germany has planned closer cooperation with Uzbekistan in the area of training its young people and offering further education. The agreement will also permit educational and employment migration to attract needed workers urgently.
Germany & Uzbekistan Also Signed Agreement on Repatriation
In addition to signing an agreement to attract qualified workers from Uzbekistan to Germany, the latter also signed an agreement to accelerate repatriations.
Through this agreement, Germany wants to return nationals of Uzbekistan who have no right to remain within Germany’s territory more quickly.
According to Minister Faeser, effective enforcement of repatriation will help limit irregular migration to the country.
A new study from the Institute of the German Economy just recently revealed that foreign workers are boosting the economic growth of East Germany.
Data from the study showed that more than 403,000 foreign nationals were employed in the country’s eastern federal states last year. Moreover, it disclosed that foreign workers made a contribution of €24.6 billion to the region’s economy.
